SHABBOS MEVORCHIM - PARSHAS BAMIDBAR
This Shabbos we bless the New Month of Sivan which falls on Sunday, June 1st. Sivan ushers in the holiday of Shavuos when G-d gave the Torah to the Jewish people. In contrast to other holidays, this Yom Tov does not have any "props" - ie; on Pesach, we have matzoh and moror; on Succoth, the succah and the four species; and on Chanukah, the menorah. Shavuos does not have any specific reminders of the awesomeness of the day. It is we, through our commitment and dedication to Torah who must give life to this day.
