Inspiration
Dear Mrs. Jungreis,
I have not even gotten to the third chapter in your book, The Committed Life, and I find it one of the most interesting things I have ever read in my life! I especially like the story entitled, Run Shai Run, , I can only imagine how extraordinary that must have amde Shai feel!

Your Prayers Are Needed
Yehonatan Ben Revital, a 7-year old child of friends of ours was critically injured at yesterday`s bombing in central Jerusalem. He was hit by a large metal nut(as in nut and bolt!) in the head and is in critical condition, hanging on to life by the slimmest thread.

The Committed Life
I just want to say how much the Rebbetzin`s book, "The Committed Life" means to me. In early 1999, I was living in Great Lakes, Illinois, at the Naval Training Center, when I saw that she was coming to speak at the chapel on the base. So I went and bought her book, "The Committed Life" and was able to read some of it before I saw her speak at the chapel. It is a BEAUTIFUL, inspiring, life-shaping book. And I was so impressed with her stories, her beautiful personality, her warmth, and kindness, that I asked her to autograph my book after her speech. And when I met her, it was as if she knew me, she was so welcoming and warm, someone like my grandmother. She smiled as she wrote in my book, and told me that my name meant, "Joy". She is such a wonderful person; she made me feel so good inside. I will always remember that day that I heard her inspiring, though heartbreaking, stories in that chapel, and when she put her personal touch on my copy of "The Committed Life". I am not Jewish; I have no religious denomination, although I was baptized in the Episcopalian church as a baby. I was blessed with parents who, having no religious preference themselves, allowed me to explore spirituality and religion on my own. They raised me with proper morals and to respect and be kind and humble. Even so, along my journey, Rebbetzin Jungreis` words, her example, her book have been extremely helpful to me. I admire her very much and I know many people the world over admire her and love her. She has inspired me to explore the Torah and its teachings. She has inspired me to listen to her audiotapes, and to recommend her books to other people. She is a wonderful example for all people, and I`m extremely thankful she was put in my life`s path.

A Word of Thanks
Thank you so much for your viewpoint regarding President Bush`s call for our nation to come together in prayer. It is not accidental, I am sure, that he so often invokes the Torah to point us to G-d.

South African Visit
Dear Rebbetzin Jungreis,

I wanted to tell you how deeply moved I was by your article on South African Jewry.
As an ex-South African it brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my heart. In very few words you absolutely captured the spirit and essence of the community, one that is bound by a spirit that is difficult to describe to others, but you did it.

My girlfriend in Cape Town e-mailed me to tell me about your visit and to tell me how thrilled she and her family were to meet you. I asked her to send me details and she e-mailed your article to me. I am lost for words.

With my thanks and good wishes,
Linda Sutin

A Letter from France

Once again, the real news in France is conveniently not being reported as it should. To give you an idea of what`s going on in France where there are now between 5 and 6 million Muslims and about 600,000 Jews, here is an email that came from a Jew living in France. Please read!
