Dear Bat Mitzvah girl,

Soon you are turning twelve! You are at the age of becoming a Bat Mitzvah. You are told it means something yet you’re not sure exactly what.

Turning bat mitzvah means you are starting the journey of becoming a woman. As a Jewish woman, you have an important role. As a Jewish woman you have a mission.

What is our mission?
Peace/light
Kindness/friendship
Prayer/soul

What we do
To prepare for our bat Mitzvah, and our roles as Jewish women, we are going to get involved and study these three categories, which we will call “levels”. There are two parts to each level, once you complete both parts of the level, you reach the “mission accomplished stage” where you are awarded a bangle as a token of your hard work and the new knowledge you have gained. You may then climb to the next level.

Levels
With each level you will receive:

1 - A profile of a special woman/girl in Jewish history from ancient to modern times
2 - Tidbits on the Jewish year and holidays
3 - Projects on women in Judaism and the mitzvoth pertaining to them
4 - An exciting mission to help others. Upon completing the mission you will then be sent an e-mail congratulating you and moving you up a level.

Mission
Our purpose is not just to move from level to level, and have an armful of the hottest bangles; it’s much deeper than that. Our purpose is to gain an understanding of who we are as Jews. But more than an understanding we will gain a pride in who we are. As we discuss and learn about the different areas in our program we will be gaining tools for a lifetime. Learning about Judaism, our identity, our people, and how to connect and give to others will prepare you for this transition in life, and make your bat mitzvah much more meaningful. When you do reach that special day, and have your special party, besides the clothes and the gifts, and the awesome food and entertainment, you will have a sense of self fulfillment. A gift, that you will soon realize as you grow older, no money in the world can buy.

Oh yea, one more thing.

When you have achieved the goal of collecting all three of your bangles, you will be presented with a special bat mitzvah gift from the holy city of Jerusalem. This is not just any gift. This is an exclusive BANGLE girl gift. So get ready for fun, excitement, learning, helping others, giving, and of course…. bangles.
